INDUSTRIAL BATTERIES
Industrial batteries are different from automotive batteries. The difference is that industrial batteries serve as stand by batteries with continous discharge, they are used in UPS systems, telecommunication equipments, medical equipments, fork lifters, etc... The industrial batteries are catogorised into four types. They are

1. Powersafe batteries (Sealed maintenance free).
2. EL Tubular (heavy duty batteries).
3. Exide lite challenger (Attractively priced batteries).
4. Inva Queen (The true inverter battery).

1. Powersafe batteries (Sealed maintenance free).
We are proud to introduce Sealed maintenance free range of batteries manufactured by Exide's Houser plant, where Exide technology combines with Japanese expertise. The Sealed maintenance free batteries are manufactured in technical collaboration with the Shinkobi group, makers of the world reowned Hitachi batteries. Following are the advantages of Sealed maintenance free batteries:
* EP range of batteries offer a better high rate discharge performance as compared to most of the imported batteries.
* Our EPSH batteries have a longer life (7 to 10 years under stand by use) than equivalent capacity batteries of other makes.
* We use lead calcium as opposed to lead cadmium antimany alloy used by some of the other makes and this results in high resistance to corrosion, negligible gassing and high temperature suspension.
* Available in large range in 6v / 12v from 4ah to 150ah and upto 5000ah in 2v range.

2. EL Tubular (heavy duty batteries).
* Battery with 2 years of warranty.
* For temperature above 35 degree centrigrade, other battery will have a premature failure. EL tubular is high chioce for this application and can withstand upto 52 degree centrigrade.
* Frequent and long powercuts will reduce life of VRLA batteries crastically. EL tubular batteries are ideal for such conditions and provides 1400 depp discharge cycleas against 400 such cycles provided by Sealed maintenance free batteries, It means, EL tubular has a life of more than times of any Sealed maintenance free battery under such situations.
* Impure lead used in local tubular batteries cause corrosion of plates leading to early failure. As it leads to consumption of more electricity. Exide EL Tubular battries are virgin lead only, there by reducing corrosions of plates and consume a fraction of electricity due to very low self discharge.
* Very low maintenance , topping up once in 9 to 12 months for 6v and once in 6 months for 12v range as compared to topping up every month for other local tubular batteries.

3. Exide lite challenger (Attractively priced batteries).
* Battery with 18 months warranty.
* New design with extra thick plates, extra long life of 3 to 3 & 1/2 years in UPS application.
* Extremely economical - low maintenance with enhanced warranty of 18 months.

4. Inva Queen (The true inverter battery).
* Automotive batteries are for starting vehicles. Why use them for invertor? Inva Queen with thicker positive plates outlast truck batteries by atleast 100%.
* Excellent cosmetics fit for your beautiful living room.
* Heat sealed polypropylene casing does not allows to spoil your floor unlike other invertor batteries.
* Low internal resistance due to through partition infor cell connections allows invaqueen to provide longer duration discharge than any other inverter battery.

FACTORS TO BE CONSIDERED WHILE SELECTING THE BATTERY

1. Capacity Degration Factor:
Any equipment loses capacity throughout its service life an so is the case with any battery. A lead acid battery from the begining to end its life lapes about 20% capacity after which it is fit to be discarded. 20% capacity loss has to be built into the design capacity if a proper battery selection is to be made.

2. Temperature:
All our batteries are rated at 27 degree centigrade. For lower ambient temperature the battery capacity may go down b/w 0.5% upto 1.0% of of its rated capacity for every degree centigrade drop in temperature from 27 degree centrigrade and this drop as to needs to be compensated for at the battery design capacity stage. For amibience above 27 degree centrigrade capacity appreciated in the same proportion. However, higher ambience are not recommended since they reduce the battery life.
